Isaac and I got home today just before the sun went down. Instead of going right inside to hermit, we went out behind our apartment to play in the grass. It was so quiet and we explored.

He felt the texture of the dry grass and how little broken pieces jumped around when we drummed on the ground. He studied leaves up close before crunching them up and letting them fly away in the wind. He pulled chunks of grass out and held them up to show me the roots.

He was calm and focused, the complete opposite of how he is when surrounded by tons of bright, loud toys.
