I am hiding in the bathroom right now with Oakley to see if you’ll settle down without Mama in sight and take a nap. You do this perfectly well, sleeping for 2-3 hours, every day at daycare. At home you prefer to sleep on me:
The other night when Daddy and I were going to raid you were sitting on my lap and I asked you if you wanted to play a little longer in your playpen or go to sleep in your gray seat thing. I asked this rhetorically, not expecting any answer, but you patted my chest with a smile and laid your head down on me. My friend Chauntel said she still experiences the same thing with her 3 year old Hannah, frequently asking: you understood that?
I love you, my baby boy. I love your snuggles and how much you’re learning everyday. I love when you smile that goofy smile and press your nose against mine.
I even love when I come check to see if you’re sleeping and you hold up your pants, smiling, to show me that you learned to undress yourself instead of going to sleep.
